We aren’t sure what was blocking Alesso these past few years. But he has returned to his progressive house roots. Maybe the return of Swedish House Mafia gave him new inspiration?

In Alesso’s Ultra 2019 performance he sent a clear signal that he wants to make noise in the progressive house genre. Previously he had been catering to the mainstage sound. Perhaps he has played music that he wasn’t interested in. Now Alesso is in complete control.

Alesso has made the complete 83-minute performance available on his Youtube channel. News about Alesso’s set started coming in Monday after Ultra Miami ended. At first, we were skeptical, but after 20 minutes we were grabbed by his distinct sound.

This is so much different than his sets from the last three years. This is Alesso in his 2013 prime with a side of 2019 flavor.

Don’t take our word for it. Watch the set for yourself. Not to mention Alesso’s Ultra Miami track list is insane.

What were some of your favorite sets from Ultra Miami and Miami Music Week? What about the venue for Ultra Miami? Let us know what you think on Facebook or Twitter!
