New additions to Excision’s Bass Canyon 2023 include re-entry, VIP perks, and more

Bass Canyon, a festival curated by Excision, has been held at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington since 2018. It has quickly become a beloved bass festival here in the northwest, and each year since its creation has provided a bigger, more breathtaking show (especially in terms of visuals, lasers, and pyrotechnics). Excision recently announced new additions and changes that are going to be made this year at the fifth annual Bass Canyon.

Excision is from Kelowna, Canada, and has been such an extremely important figure in electronic music and bass music specifically. With countless classics, his label Subsidia, as well as his festivals Bass Canyon and Lost Lands, it is safe to say Excision is truly an icon. Excision has changed the game in a lot of ways for bass music and continues to support smaller artists and highlight upcoming talent, while never ceasing to amaze during his own live performances.

Some artists that have performed at Bass Canyon over the several past years include Wooli, Dion Timmer, Subtronics, and Liquid Stranger, among other highly coveted bass artists. It is rewarding to see the PNW’s home for bass will continue to expand and grow this year. Past years’ changes include relocating the pre-party from the Pivot to inside the festival grounds, and adding the production-enhanced Evolution stage. It is clear that Bass Canyon is a place where Excision can water his love for a good festival experience—and bass, of course.

Changes this year include re-entry, more VIP perks, camping shower stations

This year, Bass Canyon and Excision announced via Instagram that the festival will finally allow re-entry for both general admission and VIP ticket holders! Re-entry will be an excellent addition for GA, as it allows for festival goers to grab more layers later into the night. Rather than worrying about losing steam and making it into the night, headbangers can head back to camp and rest for a bit if needed. This can help reduce pressure in some ways and is conducive to a more flexible and inclusive festival experience.

In addition to this, more showers will be added to standard camping with the hopes of decreasing shower wait times. This is a favorable addition as well, as hopefully, headbangers will not have to be waiting out in the sun for as long. The amount of misting stations will be increased as well! There are even more additional perks now for VIP. Some new features for VIP include express lines at the merch booth and other festival activities, and transportation between the campsite and venue.

VIP pass holders can also anticipate a complimentary new beauty bar, and a pair of high-fidelity earplugs with a collectible case (we love ear protection!), as well as additional bathrooms. Even more shade and misting stations will be added as well for those hot August days. Bass Canyon also announced the addition of more Tier 1 GA tickets to keep the price as low as possible for early festival ticket buyers.
