The Spook-tacular Genre-By-Genre FreakNight 2014 Artist Guide

Zeds Dead

Another one of several artists to feature at this fall’s FreakNight whom also appeared at Paradiso 2013 is Canadian duo Zeds Dead. Dylan Mamid (aka DC) and Zach Rapp-Rovan (aka Hooks) have been busy since their visit to The Gorge, headlining a North American tour last fall and releasing an EP earlier this summer. The EP, entitled Somewhere Else, was released via Mad Decent on July 1st. Tracks like HadoukenLost You featuring Twin Shadow and D’Angelo Lacy, and LOUD!, a collab with fellow Toronto-native Hunter Siegel, have been featured in festival sets from various artists all summer.

Cookie Monsta B2B Funtcase

A treat if there ever was one in the FreakNight 2014 lineup, Cookie Monsta B2B Funtcase is a set that bass heads everywhere will be dreaming about until their raging at it next month. Cookie Monsta makes it his second straight Northwest massive in a row, after performing at Paradiso 2014 this summer, and pairing him with Funtcase couldn’t be a better fit. The combination of dubstep, drum & bass, and pure bass goodness may be overwhelming when the duo tear up the bass stage at FreakNight 2014, and we wholeheartedly plan on taking part.

Crizzly

One of the standout acts of Resolution 2014, Crizzly returns to the Northwest to douse us more Crunkstep (coolest genre title ever?). The Texas-based, unabashed San Antonio Spurs fan, artist is known for his filthy tunes and even better live-sets. Crizzly, aka Christopher Lee Marshall, has used his unique style and energy to become one of the most fun artists to follow and listen to. He most recently featured on Destroid’s The Invasion Remixes album, re-working Put It Down with great success. We love having Crizzly back and he’s more than great in a festival setting, but here’s to a headlining Crizzly show in Northwest soon.

Mt. Eden

New Zealand-natives Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner, who make up Mt. Eden, met a teens and turned a mutual love for bass music into a rapidly growing career. Garnering thousands of fans and followers via YouTube and Souncloud with their remixes and original dubstep tunes, Mt. Eden have evolved into a diverse duo spanning not only dubstep, but drum & bass, trap, and more. Mt. Eden performed at Paradiso 2013 as well as Foundation Nightclub in October of 2013. It’s about time they returned and we can’t wait to welcome them back to the Northwest with open arms during their set at FreakNight 2014.
